Your driver-guide will pick you up from your location, brief you about the journey, and then set off for Rwanda. Along the way, you will enjoy several stopovers to refresh, stretch, and take in the views. You will also stop at a convenient place for lunch en route. After lunch, the journey continues through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, offering stunning scenery, rolling landscapes, Ankole cattle farms, the winding roads of Kigezi, and plenty of opportunities for photography. Upon arrival at the border, you will check in and proceed to Kigali city for your reserved accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay at Yambi Guest House.

After enjoying your delicious breakfast, you will set out for a full-day Kigali city tour. Highlights of the day include visits to the Kigali Convention Centre, the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Nyandungu Eco Park, and the Ntarama Genocide Site, with lunch along the way. After a fulfilling day of exploration, you will return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Yambi Guest House.

After breakfast, you will head out for a guided Kigali city walk. If possible, you will also visit Amahoro Stadium. Kigali—known as the cleanest and one of the safest cities in Africa—offers a refreshing and scenic walking experience, with beautiful views throughout the city. You will return for lunch before transferring to Akagera National Park. Arrive in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Dereva Hotel.

After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive into Akagera National Park for an unforgettable game drive. This is the best time to catch sight of early risers and major predators such as lions and hyenas. You will also have the chance to spot bushbuck, zebras, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, cape elands, impalas, oribi, and various antelope species. Return for lunch, and in the afternoon embark on a 1–2-hour boat cruise on the beautiful Lake Ihema. Expect to encounter hippos, giant crocodiles, and an impressive variety of water birds including the African fish eagle, papyrus gonolek, and the shoebill stork. After this adventurous day, you will travel back to Kigali city and check in again at Yambi Guest House for dinner and an overnight stay.

Being the final day of your trip, you will start with breakfast before checking out of the lodge and beginning your journey back to Kampala. Along the way, you will have a stopover for lunch, after which you will continue with a direct drive back to Kampala.
